Weather Services [ Meteo Clima Inglese[

The LaMMA is the operational meteo-oceanographic service supporting the regional Civil Protection system, as indicated in Regional Law no. 39/2019. The LaMMA is the meteorological branch of the Civil Protection Functional Centre of Tuscany; the other branch is the Regional Hydrological Service (SIR), according to Resolution n. 395/2015.

The LaMMA forecasting service is composed of a team of 10 meteorologists covering shifts 365 days a year. It is operational every day from 7.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. with two meteorologists on duty (weekdays and holidays); from 1.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. with one meteorologist on duty in the afternoon on weekdays. Outside these hours, a 24-hour on-call service is guaranteed. In the event of an alert, the weather room is manned in presence or remotely depending on the type of risk, according to the procedures of the regional weather alert system.
