JONSMOD General info

JONSMOD 2018 conference will be held in Florence, Italy, 17-19 October 2018 (Wednesday-Friday).

 

Official language

The official language of the JONSMOD 2018 conference is English. Simultaneous interpretation is not provided.
 
 

Congress center

The meeting will be held in Sant'Apollonia Auditorium located in Via S. Gallo 25, Firenze. It is in the center of Firenze, about 15 minutes walking distance from the central station of Firenze S.M.N.
The Auditorium of Sant’Apollonia is a portion of the monastic complex of the Church of Sant'Apollonia in the center of Florence.
In the Auditorium, there are two rooms with 200 and 40 seats, respectively.

How to get there  

Florence can be easily reached by plane, train, bus, or car. Detailed information can be found on the official tourist website of the city of Florence
 
 
Planning your travel:
 
By Airplane:
The city of Florence is served by the Amerigo Vespucci International Airport. The airport is located 11km from the city center and is connected to the city center by bus, taxi and passenger shuttle services. Information concerning timetables and schedules can be retrieved at the airport's website.
Alternatively, low-cost airlines offer regular frequencies from several cities in Europe to Pisa airport and Bologna airport. Both cities offer regular train services to Florence's central station Santa Maria Novella.
 
By Train:
TrenItalia and Italo, the largest train carriers in Italy offer regional and high-speed trains from main cities such as Rome, Milan, Turin and Venice, to Florence. Fares and ticket reservations can be made at their websites.

Bus operators can also offer passenger services from several cities in Italy to Florence.
 
Moving around in Florence:
The best way to visit Florence is by foot. Alternatively, the Metropolitan City of Florence has a wide connection of bus lines and a tram to move around.
